Reap What You Sow Mondays with Tony: The Harvest Comes with Warfare

"The enemy doesn’t attack empty fields. There’s a reason the heat turned up—it’s harvest season."

Welcome to another Reap What You Sow Mondays with Tony—a time for faith, focus, and forward movement. Let’s talk about the fight that comes when you’re on the edge of something big.

When you're walking in purpose and sowing in faith, it can be tempting to think that the moment your harvest is near, peace will automatically surround you. But anyone who's truly labored in the Spirit knows this truth: the harvest comes with warfare.

The enemy doesn't waste time or energy on barren soil. He reserves his most aggressive attacks for those who are close to breakthrough, who have fertile fields ready to bloom. Why? Because the harvest doesn’t just bless you—it blesses others. And if the enemy can stop the harvest, he can stop the testimony, the transformation, and the impact.

THE WARFARE YOU'RE FACING IS PROOF THAT THE HARVEST IS COMING.

If you feel like all hell has broken loose, it might be because Heaven is about to break through.

BIBLICAL REMINDERS: WHEN HARVEST MET WARFARE

  • Joshua and the Walls of Jericho (Joshua 6) They didn’t just waltz into the Promised Land. They had to march around walls, shout by faith, and conquer what God had already promised.

  • Nehemiah Rebuilding the Wall (Nehemiah 4) With one hand, they laid bricks. With the other, they held swords. Progress and protection go hand-in-hand during harvest season.

  • Jesus at the Cross (Luke 22-24) Before resurrection came crucifixion. Before the ultimate harvest came the ultimate battle.

"The darker the night, the closer the dawn. The heavier the warfare, the richer the harvest."

WHY THE ENEMY ATTACKS DURING HARVEST TIME

  1. He Can Smell Growth. The enemy senses alignment and movement. He sees the angels gathering the blessings and wants to distract you before they land.

"Friends, when life gets really difficult, don’t jump to the conclusion that God isn’t on the job. Instead, be glad that you are in the very thick of what Christ experienced. This is a spiritual refining process, with glory just around the corner."– 1 Peter 4:12-13 (MSG)

  2. You’re Pushing Through the Soil. This is your most vulnerable moment. You feel fragile, but you’re also fertile. The devil knows what’s about to break through.

"So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit."– Galatians 6:9 (MSG)

  3. Others Will Eat From Your Field. Your breakthrough isn’t just for you. It’s for your family, your community, your legacy. That’s why the enemy is after it.

"The enemy doesn’t care about your past. He’s afraid of your future."

HOW TO STAND STRONG IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE

  • Stay in the Word.

"God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long." – Ephesians 6:17-18 (MSG)

  • Suit Up.

"Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued." – Ephesians 6:13 (MSG)

  • Pray Without Ceasing.

"The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with." – James 5:16 (MSG)

  • Watch Your Mouth. Speak what God says, not what fear suggests.

"Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose." – Proverbs 18:21 (MSG)

  • Praise While You Wait. Praise isn’t just a response; it’s a weapon.

"Let every living, breathing creature praise GOD! Hallelujah!" – Psalm 150:6 (MSG)

REMEMBER THIS: The enemy is after your harvest because it has value. Your prayers, your purpose, your perseverance—they matter. And every battle you’re fighting is confirmation that fruit is forming.

"The enemy targets potential. The greater the call, the hotter the fire."

God didn’t bring you this far to abandon you. He’s strengthening your hands for battle and your heart for the blessing.

"This is God’s war, not yours."  – 2 Chronicles 20:15 (MSG)

So lift your head. Keep sowing. Keep pressing. And remember: If it weren't valuable, it wouldn't be under siege.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

  • What attacks have intensified as you stepped into purpose?

  • Where do you see fruit trying to form?

  • What Word are you standing on?

  • What praise can you release even before the harvest comes?

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE:

Take 15 minutes each morning this week to:

  1. Declare a scripture over your situation.

  2. Thank God in advance for the harvest.

  3. Rebuke the enemy’s lies and speak truth.

  4. Encourage someone else fighting a battle.

Your harvest is worth fighting for. Don’t faint. Don’t fold. Keep sowing.

"And now, GOD, do it again—bring rains to our drought-stricken lives. So those who planted their crops in despair will shout hurrahs at the harvest."  – Psalm 126:4-5 (MSG)

Until next Monday, keep sowing by faith. Your harvest is on the other side of the heat. And you’re not alone in the fight.

P.S. If you want a powerful reminder of what it means to fight through darkness and still shine with light, check out my superhero book series, S.O.L.A.D.™: Soldiers of Light Against Darkness. It's a thrilling, faith-fueled story of young warriors standing up against evil in their city—a reflection of what we all go through spiritually.
