There was no lightning bolt. No magic word.No ancient relic passed down from a long-lost ancestor.
Just two teenagers.
Kevin Edwards and Juanita Grayson stood in a supernatural battlefield in Book I of S.O.L.A.D.™; Soldiers of Light Against Darkness™, staring down demonic soldiers, outnumbered and outmatched—or so it seemed.
But the truth?
They were already equipped.
The power didn’t come from the outside. It came from within—from the presence of God, the love of Jesus Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit living inside them.
And that’s the Word for us today.
Too many of us are waiting for a “sign” or a “miracle” to confirm we’re called, when God has already placed everything we need within us to walk boldly into purpose, impact, and legacy.
Stop Waiting for What’s Already in You
We say:
“If I just had more money…”
“If I was more confident…”
“If someone would just notice my gifts…”
But what if God is saying:
“You have everything you need. Use it.”
In S.O.L.A.D.™, Kevin and Juanita, and the other teen heroes didn’t discover power from an outside force—they unlocked what had been lying dormant inside all along. That’s why faith is so important.
Faith doesn’t manufacture power. Faith activates it.
Remember when Juanita was paralyzed by fear and self-doubt, questioning whether she had what it took to fight? In that moment, her quiet prayer became a roar in the spiritual realm. Her light ignited—not because she became stronger, but because she believed God was with her. That’s what unlocked it.
"Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit," says the Lord Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6)
Faith Is Fuel, Not Furniture
Some people treat faith like furniture—something to sit on when they’re tired. But faith was never meant to be passive.
“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)
Faith is fuel. It moves you.Kevin and Juanita had no idea they’d one day fly, project light, or hear from God so clearly. But when they chose to trust Him, they stepped into their true identities.
Likewise, David didn’t wait for new armor to fight Goliath—he grabbed five smooth stones and used what he already had.
Declaration: I will walk in faith, knowing God has equipped me for the battle I face.
What God Gives You, He Grows With You
God didn’t wait for Kevin and Juanita to be perfect to give them purpose. He gave them a seed—power waiting to be planted in situations of trust.
“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6)
Even when Kevin doubted his calling, even when Juanita wanted to give up, the power kept growing. Each test brought a new level of trust—and with it, new strength.
The same is true for you.
Declaration: I may not feel ready, but if God called me, He’s already prepared me.
The Enemy Wants You to Think You’re Missing Something
The Demon Master and his forces tried to convince Kevin, Juanita, and the team they weren’t strong enough. That they were just kids. That they didn’t have what it takes.
Sound familiar?
That’s the same lie the enemy whispers to you:
“You’re not smart enough.”
“You’re too late.”
“You’re not ready.”
But the truth is:
You don’t lack power. You lack confidence in the power you’ve been given—God’s power working through you.
“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life.” (2 Peter 1:3)
Declaration: I am not who the enemy says I am—I am who God says I am: chosen, equipped, and empowered.
Final Word: Walk Like You’re Equipped
You already have:
The gift.
The anointing.
The authority.
The access.
God put it in you through His Spirit.
“The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you.” (Romans 8:11)
Now walk like it. Live like it.
Pray like it. Speak like it. Create like it.
You are not empty. You are equipped by God. And the Holy Spirit will empower you every step of the way.
Declaration: I will no longer shrink back. I will step forward—because I am already equipped.
Walk boldly in it.
