Welcome to this week’s Tony Tips Tuesdays, where we dive into one of the most powerful and often overlooked elements in storytelling: internal conflict. As writers, we often chase the big plot twists, the enemy confrontations, and the external stakes. But the truth is, what makes a story resonate—what makes a character stay with us long after we’ve turned the last page—is what they battle within.

And who better to reflect on today than the Black women who have answered that call again and again, often without applause, often through resistance, and often at great cost. Whether through activism, intercession, leadership, motherhood, teaching, or healing—Black women have been answering destiny’s call long before the world recognized their power.

On this Resurrection Sunday, as we celebrate the risen Savior, we also pause to reflect on the rising of His daughters, particularly the bold, faithful, and resilient Black women who carry resurrection power in their spirits every day.

We pause to reflect on the unseen battle many women face daily—not against the world, but within themselves. That silent enemy is fear.

Women of faith have always been at the forefront of change, walking boldly in God’s calling, even when faced with great challenges.

The ability to stand alone, even when the world turns away, is a defining characteristic of strong women.

Today I am recognizing the invaluable contributions of women throughout history. Women have been pillars of strength, resilience, and faith.

We celebrate the strength of women, the necessity of trust, and the power of unity in the face of adversity.
