Reed’s Reads of Wisdom Wednesdays™: God Can Turn Ordinary People Into Answers to Someone Else’s Prayer— When Heaven Sends Help Through People Who Still Feel Unqualified
Sometimes the person God sends does not look like the answer at first. Sometimes the answer is still scared. Sometimes the answer is still confused. Sometimes the answer is still learning how to trust God, still trying to understand the assignment, still wrestling with insecurity, still asking questions and still wondering why the battle found them in the first place.
That is one of the powerful spiritual truths at the heart of S.O.L.A.D.™: Soldiers of Light Against Darkness™: The Angelo™ & Angeline™ Chronicles.
Kevin Edwards and Juanita Grayson did not wake up one morning expecting to become Angelo™ and Angeline™. They did not ask to be pulled from Memphis into Dark Earth. They did not volunteer to fight demons, confront the Demon Master, protect villages or carry the weight of a world’s hope on their shoulders. They were ordinary people with ordinary concerns, ordinary fears, ordinary questions and ordinary human emotions.
But God can take ordinary people and use them in extraordinary ways. He can take someone who feels unprepared and make them an answer. He can take someone who feels weak and use them to strengthen others. He can take someone who is still growing and place them in a moment where their obedience becomes somebody else’s miracle.
Isaiah 6:8 says, “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: ‘Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me.’”
That scripture is powerful because it reminds us that God still sends people. He sends them into families, communities, churches, friendships, workplaces, neighborhoods, broken places and dark situations. He sends them with light. He sends them with purpose. He sends them with compassion. He sends them with gifts they may not fully understand yet.
And sometimes, the person He sends is someone who still does not realize they are an answer to somebody’s prayer.
The People of Dark Earth Needed Hope
Dark Earth was not just a place filled with danger. It was a place filled with people who needed hope.
The Demon Master’s reign had crushed lives, stolen peace and turned fear into a way of life. Villages lived under the weight of oppression. Families were threatened. People were forced to survive in a world where darkness seemed to have authority. In that kind of world, hope becomes more than a nice thought. Hope becomes oxygen. Hope becomes resistance. Hope becomes the thing people cling to when everything around them says the situation will never change.
That is why the arrival of Angelo™ and Angeline™ mattered so much. Kevin and Juanita may not have fully understood the weight of what was happening at first, but Wiseman J understood. Jeff understood. Melanie understood. The villagers understood. These were not just two visitors from another world. They were signs that God had not forgotten Dark Earth.
That is what makes this story more than a superhero adventure. It is a reminder that when people are crying out for help, God can send the answer through someone who does not yet know how important they are.
Kevin and Juanita Were Not Perfect Answers
This is where the message becomes personal. Kevin and Juanita were not perfect. That is part of what makes them powerful. They were not flawless warriors with all the answers. They were not emotionless heroes who never doubted, never feared and never struggled. Kevin wrestled with insecurity, questions, fear and the weight of becoming Angelo™. Juanita wrestled with reluctance, frustration, responsibility and the pressure of becoming Angeline™.
They were learning while they were fighting.
They were growing while they were serving.
They were becoming while others were depending on them.
That matters because many people think they cannot be used by God until they feel fully ready. They believe they need more confidence, more knowledge, more experience, more money, more influence, more strength or more spiritual maturity before God can send them anywhere.
But the Bible is full of people God called while they still felt unqualified. Moses had questions. Gideon had fear. Jeremiah felt too young. Esther had to find courage. Peter had flaws. Paul had a past. Yet God still used them.
The issue is not whether you feel ordinary. The issue is whether you are willing to obey when God calls.
Someone Is Praying for What You Carry
One of the most powerful ways to think about purpose is this: someone may be praying for what God placed inside you.
Someone may be praying for encouragement, and God gave you words.
Someone may be praying for help, and God gave you compassion.
Someone may be praying for wisdom, and God allowed you to survive lessons that can now strengthen them.
Someone may be praying for hope, and God gave you a testimony.
Someone may be praying for someone to show up, and God is nudging you to move.
That is not pressure meant to crush you. That is purpose meant to awaken you. Kevin and Juanita did not fully understand that at first. They were trying to survive Dark Earth, but the people of that world needed more than survival. They needed a sign that darkness could be challenged. They needed someone to stand between them and destruction. They needed someone willing to fight for a future they had almost stopped believing could exist.
In life, your presence may be more important than you realize. Your prayer may matter more than you think. Your encouragement may reach deeper than you know. Your obedience may be the reason someone keeps going. God can make your life an answer in places you never expected.
Ordinary Does Not Mean Unusable
The enemy loves to make people feel too ordinary to matter. He will tell you that you are not special enough. He will remind you of your flaws. He will point at your fears. He will magnify your past mistakes. He will make you compare yourself to people who seem stronger, smarter, more gifted or more prepared.
But ordinary does not mean unusable. Ordinary soil grows extraordinary harvests when God puts seed in it. Ordinary hands can become healing hands when God moves through them. Ordinary words can become life-giving words when spoken in the right moment. Ordinary people can become extraordinary answers when they surrender their lives to God’s purpose.
That is one of the reasons Kevin and Juanita’s journey works so well. Readers can see themselves in them. They are not distant, unreachable figures. They are people who laugh, worry, argue, question, grow, make mistakes and keep moving. Their humanity makes their heroism more powerful.
They remind us that God does not need people to be perfect before He uses them. He needs people who are willing to trust Him.
The Answer May Need Training Too
There is also an important truth in this message: being sent does not mean you will not need training.
Kevin and Juanita were answers to prayer, but they still had to learn. They had to learn how to use their powers. They had to learn how to fight. They had to learn how to trust their rings. They had to learn how to listen to wisdom. They had to learn how to work with Jeff, Wiseman J and Melanie. They had to learn how to handle pressure, loss, fear and responsibility.
That is how God often works. He may call you before you feel ready, but He does not abandon you after He calls you. He trains you. He corrects you. He surrounds you with people who can help you. He allows your faith to be strengthened through experience. He teaches you while you walk.
Many people delay obedience because they think they need to know everything before they begin. But sometimes clarity comes after the first step. Sometimes strength comes after the first battle. Sometimes wisdom comes after the first mistake. Sometimes courage grows because you kept showing up while you were still afraid.
You do not have to know everything to be useful. You have to be willing to grow.
Wiseman J Saw the Answer Before They Did
Wiseman J is important in this lesson because he understood something Kevin and Juanita did not fully grasp yet. He saw them as more than confused visitors. He saw them as part of God’s answer for Dark Earth. He believed their presence had meaning. He helped guide them, protect them, teach them and position them for the mission in front of them.
Every answer needs someone who can recognize it. Sometimes God will place people in your life who can see purpose in you before you see it in yourself. They will speak life when you are overwhelmed. They will remind you of who you are when fear makes you forget. They will help you understand that your arrival in a place, a season or a relationship was not random.
That is a gift. Wiseman J’s faith helped Kevin and Juanita step into something bigger than themselves. He did not treat them as accidents. He treated them as people sent by God. That kind of belief can change a person’s life.
There are people who rise because someone dared to see purpose in them.
Jeff Reminds Us That Answers Can Be Wounded Too
Jeff: Ward of Law adds another layer to this message. Jeff was a fighter before Kevin and Juanita arrived. He had been battling darkness for years. He had saved people, risked his life and carried scars from battles many would never understand. Yet Jeff was also wounded. His anger, pride, jealousy and pain created inner conflict that he had to confront.
That makes Jeff a necessary part of this message. Sometimes the people God uses to help others are still healing themselves. That does not mean their healing does not matter. It means God is merciful enough to work through people while He is also working in them. Jeff’s pain did not erase his value. His struggle did not cancel his courage. His flaws did not mean he had no place in the mission.
That should encourage someone. You may still be healing, but God can still use your compassion. You may still be recovering from disappointment, but God can still use your wisdom. You may still be fighting private battles, but God can still use your testimony to help someone else survive theirs. Healing and purpose can walk together.
Sometimes You Become the Help You Once Needed
One of the most beautiful things God can do is turn your survival into service. The person who once needed encouragement can become an encourager. The person who once needed prayer can become an intercessor. The person who once needed guidance can become a mentor. The person who once needed someone to believe in them can become the voice that helps someone else keep believing.
That is how God redeems pain. He does not waste what you survived. He can use the lessons, scars, battles and tears to give you compassion for others. He can make you sensitive to pain you would have ignored before. He can make you strong in places you were once weak. He can make your story a lighthouse for someone still trapped in a storm.
Kevin and Juanita were pulled into a world that needed saving, but their own growth became part of the journey. Jeff had been through pain, but his experience still mattered. Wiseman J had wisdom because he had lived through battles. Melanie had heart because she understood what it meant to live under the shadow of darkness and still care.
Each one carried something someone else needed. That is how a team becomes powerful.
Do Not Dismiss the Place God Sends You
Sometimes people miss purpose because they dislike the place God sends them. Dark Earth was not comfortable. It was dangerous, broken and frightening. Kevin and Juanita could have spent the entire journey only wishing they were somewhere else. They had every reason to want to go home. They had every reason to question why they were there.
But their presence mattered in that place. That is a lesson for us. God may send you into a hard conversation, a difficult family situation, a hurting community, a struggling workplace, a ministry that needs help, a friendship that needs encouragement or a season that stretches you. It may not be where you would have chosen to go. It may not be easy. It may not feel glamorous.
But someone there may need what God placed inside you. Do not dismiss the assignment because the place is difficult. Sometimes difficult places reveal the purpose you did not know you carried.
Your “Yes” Can Open the Door for Someone Else’s Freedom
Isaiah said, “Here am I! Send me.”
That kind of yes is powerful. It is not always loud. It is not always dramatic. Sometimes yes looks like showing up. Sometimes yes looks like praying. Sometimes yes looks like making the phone call. Sometimes yes looks like writing the book, sharing the testimony, checking on the person, mentoring the child, encouraging the friend, serving the church, helping the family or stepping into the assignment even while your knees are shaking.
A yes to God can become a door of hope for someone else. Kevin and Juanita’s yes mattered to Dark Earth. Jeff and Wiseman J’s yes mattered when they stepped through the portal to help Kevin, Juanita and their world. Melanie’s yes mattered when she chose courage and compassion instead of shrinking back. Every yes added light to the mission.
Your yes may be connected to someone else’s breakthrough. That does not mean you are the savior. God is the Savior. But He still uses people as vessels, messengers, helpers, encouragers, protectors and witnesses. You may not be the source of the miracle, but you can still be part of how God delivers it.
The Prayer and the Person Can Meet in God’s Timing
One of the most beautiful things about God’s timing is that He knows how to connect a prayer with a person. Someone is praying on one side of the story, and someone else is being prepared on the other side. One person is crying out for help, while another person is being trained, stretched, healed and positioned. One person is asking God to send somebody, while someone else is wrestling with the courage to say yes.
Then God brings the two together. That is what makes divine purpose so powerful. It is bigger than one person’s comfort. It is bigger than one person’s schedule. It is bigger than one person’s understanding. God sees the whole picture. He knows who needs help. He knows who can carry it. He knows when the door needs to open.
Kevin and Juanita were not sent to Dark Earth by accident. Their arrival carried meaning. So does yours.
What This Means for Us
This message is not only about Kevin, Juanita, Jeff, Wiseman J and Melanie.
It is about every person who has ever felt too ordinary to be used by God.
It is about the person who thinks their words do not matter.
It is about the person who thinks their testimony is too messy.
It is about the person who thinks their past disqualifies them.
It is about the person who thinks their gift is too small.
It is about the person who thinks God only sends people who are fearless, flawless and fully prepared.
That is not how God works.
God can use a person who is still learning. He can use a person who is still healing. He can use a person who is still growing. He can use a person who does not have all the answers but has enough faith to take the next step.
You may feel ordinary. But in God’s hands, ordinary can become extraordinary.
Declarations for the One Who Feels Ordinary
Speak these over your life:
God can use me even while I am still growing.
My ordinary life can carry extraordinary purpose.
I will not dismiss what God placed inside me.
I can be an answer to someone’s prayer.
I do not have to be perfect to be obedient.
My testimony can help somebody else keep going.
My light can ignite the dimming light in others.
My yes matters.
God can send me into places that need hope.
I am willing to be used for His purpose.
Final Thoughts
God can turn ordinary people into answers to someone else’s prayer.
Kevin Edwards and Juanita Grayson did not begin their journey feeling like world-changing heroes. Jeff did not fight without wounds. Wiseman J did not lead without needing faith. Melanie did not matter because she had the most power. Each of them mattered because they carried something the mission needed.
That is the beauty of purpose.
God does not wait for you to become perfect before He starts using your life. He can use your heart, your story, your compassion, your courage, your wisdom, your prayers and your willingness. He can use the parts of you that still feel small and place them in moments that matter more than you know.
Someone may be praying for encouragement that your words can provide.
Someone may be praying for hope that your testimony can awaken.
Someone may be praying for help that your obedience can bring.
Someone may be praying for light that God already placed inside you.
Do not count yourself out because you feel ordinary. God still sends ordinary people into dark places with extraordinary purpose. And sometimes, when you say yes, somebody else gets to see that God heard their prayer.
