There are some blessings in life you don’t recognize when they first arrive.
They don’t come with a title. Nobody announces them. There’s no grand moment where everything pauses and you’re told, “Pay attention—this right here is going to change your life.”
Most of the time, they enter quietly. They blend into your normal. They look like everyday interactions… until one day, you realize something in you is different.
Stronger. Clearer. More grounded.
And when you trace it back, it wasn’t a moment that changed you.
It was a person.
This 27th day of Women’s History Month, I found myself thinking about that kind of impact. Not just the women we celebrate publicly—the pioneers, the trailblazers, the ones whose names are etched into history—but the women whose influence is personal. The ones whose presence didn’t just pass through your life…
It stayed. It shaped. It settled into who you became.
Because some of the greatest favor God will ever place on your life won’t look like opportunity.
It will look like a woman who shows up—and stays.
When You Didn’t Start With That Kind of Presence
And for some people… that kind of presence wasn’t there in the beginning.
That’s not always easy to say out loud, but it’s real.
Some people didn’t grow up with a mother who could nurture them the way they needed. Not because she didn’t want to—but because life, circumstances, or brokenness got in the way. Some didn’t have sisters to talk things through with. No late-night conversations. No shared understanding. No built-in support system.
Some didn’t have grandmothers who slowed life down long enough to pour wisdom into them. No stories. No quiet corrections. No one to say, “Let me show you a better way.”
And when that’s your foundation, you don’t always walk around naming the absence.
You just live with it.
You feel it in moments where you don’t quite know how to respond. You feel it when you’re trying to understand love, or trust, or vulnerability. You feel it when life hits hard and there’s no one there who naturally steps in to steady you.
It doesn’t always scream.
Sometimes it just… lingers.
The Way God Rewrites What You Didn’t Receive
But here’s what I’ve learned—and what I’ve seen over and over again.
God is not limited by your starting point.
He doesn’t look at what you didn’t have and say, “Well, that’s just how it is.” He has a way of stepping into your life—sometimes later than you expected—and placing people around you who begin to restore what was missing.
Not all at once.
Not in a way that feels forced.
But gradually… intentionally.
Psalm 68:6 says, “God sets the solitary in families.”
And that verse carries weight when you’ve ever felt like you were navigating life on your own. Because what God does is not random. He doesn’t just send people—He sends the right people, at the right time, with the right assignment.
And often, that shows up in the form of a woman who doesn’t even realize the role she’s playing in your life.
She might just think she’s being herself.
Checking on you. Encouraging you. Saying what needs to be said.
But in reality?
God is using her to fill a space that’s been empty for years.
There’s Something About a Woman Who Covers You in Prayer
You don’t always know when someone is praying for you. There’s no notification. No announcement. No visible sign that says, “Someone just lifted your name up to God.” But you feel it.
You feel it when something that should have gone left… didn’t. You feel it when clarity comes in a moment that should have been confusing. You feel it when you find peace in a situation that normally would have shaken you.
That’s not luck. That’s covering.
James 5:16 says, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much.”
And there is something uniquely powerful about a woman who knows how to pray—not just speak words, but intercede. The kind of prayer that isn’t surface-level, but intentional. Focused. Persistent.
The kind that reaches places you didn’t even know needed covering.
You may never hear everything she prayed. But you will live in the results of it.
When Someone Sees More Than You’re Showing
There’s a moment that happens when someone sees you clearly—and still chooses to invest in you.
Not the version of you that’s polished and put together. The real version. The one with questions. The one still figuring things out. The one that doesn’t always get it right.
Godly women have a way of seeing past what you present. You can walk in guarded, careful, even a little distant—and somehow, they still recognize something deeper. They’ll speak to a part of you that you haven’t even acknowledged yet.
And sometimes, that can feel uncomfortable. Because being seen like that requires honesty. But it’s also necessary.
Because growth doesn’t happen when everything stays hidden. It happens when someone sees what’s there—and refuses to let you stay where you are.
The Kind of Strength That Doesn’t Announce Itself
We live in a world that often equates strength with visibility. With volume. With dominance. With presence that demands attention.
But some of the strongest women you’ll ever encounter don’t operate like that. Their strength isn’t loud—it’s consistent. It’s in how they show up, even when it’s inconvenient. It’s in how they love without keeping score. It’s in how they remain steady when everything around them is shifting.
They don’t need recognition to validate who they are. They don’t need applause to keep going. They just continue being who God called them to be. And if you spend enough time around that kind of strength, you start to realize something: It changes you… without trying to.
The Women Who Won’t Make Headlines—but Made You
When we talk about Women’s History Month, we rightfully celebrate the women who broke barriers and made history visible.
But there’s another category of women we have to acknowledge. The ones who may never be written about—but whose impact is undeniable. The ones who raised you. Who corrected you. Who prayed for you. Who stood in the gap for you when you didn’t even know there was a gap.
They didn’t need a stage. They didn’t need recognition. But if you look at your life honestly, you’ll see pieces of them in who you are today.
That’s legacy. Not the kind that’s documented. The kind that’s lived.
Don’t Rush Past This Moment
Pause for a second. Not a quick thought. Not a surface-level answer. Really pause. Who are the women in your life that made a difference? The one who checked on you when nobody else did.The one who told you something you didn’t want to hear—but needed to.T he one who prayed for you. Encouraged you. Covered you.
Have you told her? Not casually. Not in passing. But intentionally. Because too often, we wait until someone is gone to fully express what they meant to us. And by then… The moment has passed.
And If You’re Still Waiting on That Kind of Connection
If you’re reading this and thinking, “I haven’t experienced that yet,” I want you to hear this clearly. Your life is not lacking. Your story is not behind. And God has not forgotten you.
There are some connections that come at the beginning of your life. And there are some that come at the right time. Because sometimes, it’s not just about who is sent—it’s about when you’re ready to receive them.
So don’t close yourself off. Don’t assume it’s not for you. Stay open. Because what you didn’t have then… God is still able to provide now.
Let This Settle—This Is What Favor Looks Like
We spend a lot of time talking about favor in terms of doors opening, opportunities increasing, and blessings becoming visible. And those things matter.
But some of the greatest favor in your life will never look like that. It will look like someone who: Prays for you. Speaks into your life. Challenges you.Encourages you. Stands with you. And expects nothing in return. That kind of presence is rare. It’s intentional. And it’s not something to overlook. It’s favor.
A Declaration to Carry Forward
I will not overlook the people God has placed in my life. I will recognize and honor the women who have covered me, corrected me, and cared for me. I will remain open to the relationships God is sending, and I will receive the wisdom, love, and guidance that aligns with His purpose for my life.
A Prayer for What You Have—and What’s Still Coming
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the women You have placed in our lives—the ones who have prayed for us, spoken into us, and stood beside us through different seasons. Help us to recognize their value and honor them while they are present. And for those who are still waiting for that kind of connection, I ask that You send the right people at the right time. Restore what was missing, heal what was broken, and remind us that we were never meant to do life alone.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
At the end of the day, this kind of favor doesn’t always come with noise. It doesn’t always come with visibility. But when you have it… You know. And if you’re wise, you don’t take it for granted.
