Reap What You Sow Mondays with Tony™:Watering Your Dreams

ree

Welcome back to another Reap What You Sow Mondays, Soldiers of Light! Today’s message is for every dreamer, builder, visionary, and believer who’s planted a seed of purpose and is waiting for it to bloom. The truth is, planting a dream isn’t enough. You’ve got to water it.

Whether it’s a creative vision, a business, a ministry, a relationship, or a healing journey, nothing grows without care, consistency, and commitment. And in a world that applauds overnight success, we sometimes forget that real growth takes time—and it requires us to show up day after day, even when we don’t see immediate results.

Let’s get into it.

🌾 Seeds Need More Than Soil

We all get excited at the beginning of a dream. We feel inspired, motivated, and ready to take on the world. That’s the seed stage—it’s full of faith and potential. But what separates daydreamers from harvesters is what happens after the seed is planted.

Dreams, like seeds, need watering:

  • Watering with faith

  • Watering with effort

  • Watering with prayer

  • Watering with study

  • Watering with accountability

  • Watering with rest

  • Watering with resilience

A seed left in the dirt, untouched, unwatered, and forgotten, will shrivel up. And so will your calling if you don’t tend to it with consistent, positive actions.

📖 1 Corinthians 3:6-7 (NIV) – “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.”

💧Small Drops Matter

You don’t need to do everything at once. You just need to do something every day that feeds your dream.

📚 One page read.

📝 One paragraph written.

📞 One call made.

💡 One idea pursued.

🙏🏾 One prayer whispered.

🏃🏾 One step taken.

Those small drops may not seem like much in the moment, but over time, they accumulate and nurture the soil of your destiny. Don’t despise small beginnings (Zechariah 4:10)—celebrate the fact that you’re still watering when others gave up.

📖 Zechariah 4:10 (NLT) – “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.”

📖 Matthew 25:21 (KJV) – “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things.”

🌤️ Rain Will Come, But Don't Wait for It

Yes, sometimes God sends a downpour of blessings. Opportunities fall into place. Miracles happen. Momentum builds quickly. But more often, He’s asking, “Can I trust you to water the ground before the rain?”

Faith isn’t just believing the rain is coming—it’s acting like it’s already on the way. It’s waking up and doing the work even when the skies are clear and the soil looks dry.

That’s faith in motion. That’s obedience. That’s preparation.

📖 Hebrews 11:1 (NIV) – “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

📖 James 2:17 (NKJV) – “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”

🌻 When Watering Feels Pointless

Let’s be honest—there are days when watering your dreams feels like a waste. You’re tired. You’re discouraged. You wonder if your labor is in vain.

But hear this:Every act of faith, every step forward, every ounce of effort is a spiritual investment. And Heaven keeps perfect records.

🕊 Galatians 6:9 (NIV) says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

That includes the good work of tending to your dream—especially when nobody sees it but God.

📖 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV) – “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

✨ Real-Life Testimony: The Dreamer Who Kept Watering

There’s a man I once met who had a passion for storytelling. He wasn’t rich, didn’t have big sponsors, and didn’t come from a legacy of success. But he had a voice, a calling, and a dream to write books that would inspire the world.

He wrote while working two jobs. He promoted his books from the trunk of his car. He spoke at schools, churches, and small town halls—anywhere someone would listen.

Some told him to give it up. Others said the dream was too big. But he kept watering. He kept praying. He kept believing.

Years later, that man became a published author, a speaker, a storyteller, a husband, and a man of purpose. You may know him—because you’re reading his work right now.

That dreamer was me.And if God did it for me, He can do it for you.

📖 Psalm 37:5 (NKJV) – “Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.”

  4. Hannah — Wept and prayed for a child, year after year.📖 1 Samuel 1:27 (NIV) – “I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him.”

  5. Jesus — Spoke truth, healed, loved, and poured Himself out day after day.📖 John 9:4 (ESV) – “We must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.”

💡 Final Encouragement

📖 Psalm 126:5-6 (NIV) – “Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.”
