Hey family,
This week, I want to talk to you heart-to-heart about something we all go through, whether we admit it or not: the buried battles. You know what I mean. Those silent struggles. The seasons where it feels like life has shoved you face-first into the dirt and piled more weight on top. You’re not just down—you feel buried. Forgotten. Suffocating. Like the next breath might be your last.
That’s exactly where we find Angelo™ and Angeline™ in Chapter 6 titled "The Killers of Men," of Book I of S.O.L.A.D.: Soldiers of Light Against Darkness™.
They weren’t fighting an enemy that came with loud roars or flaming swords. No, this enemy—Drought—fought with silence. With dust. With dry, choking particles designed to suffocate and snuff out their breath. Her goal wasn’t to crush them with brute force. It was to bury them under the weight of something silent, subtle, and invisible until they simply... gave up.
But they didn’t.
They resurrected.
So today’s wisdom drop is simple, but deep:
"You may be buried, but you are not broken."
Let’s walk through this powerful truth together and unpack what God is saying to YOU through this unforgettable scene.
1. Buried Battles Are Real—But They Aren’t the End
Let me encourage someone right now: just because you feel buried, doesn’t mean you’re finished.
Sometimes the enemy doesn’t want to kill you quickly. He wants to suffocate your purpose slowly. He wants to pile enough discouragement, distractions, fear, anxiety, grief, and guilt on you so that you give up before you see what God had for you.
But hear me: you are not buried to die. You are buried to rise.
Just like seeds are planted deep in dark soil to eventually burst forth with new life, so too has God allowed your moment of darkness to be the foundation for something greater to come forth.
2. The Scene from Chapter 6: A Spiritual Blueprint
Angelo and Angeline didn’t face just physical danger—they faced symbolic adversity.
Drought didn't swing swords. She used suffocating dust, designed to fill their lungs.
They were buried alive beneath the surface. Covered. Mocked. Forgotten.
Their enemies walked away believing the battle was over.
But let me remind you: the enemy's declaration is NOT your destiny.
The heroes' bodies began to glow. Their lungs, once filled with dirt, healed. They shook off the grave. They tapped into resurrection power. And they emerged stronger.
That scene is more than just an action moment. It is your spiritual metaphor for every season in your life where you were pushed down, written off, and buried under weight you didn’t ask for.
But just like them, you’re getting back up.
3. Biblical Parallels to Buried Seasons
God has always used the imagery of burial and resurrection to show us how He works:
Joseph in the Pit
Genesis 37:24 (NKJV) — "Then they took him and cast him into a pit. And the pit was empty; there was no water in it."
Joseph was buried by betrayal. His own brothers turned against him. But the pit wasn’t the end. It was a doorway to the palace. What looked like a breakdown was actually God’s set-up for a breakthrough.
Jesus in the Tomb
Luke 24:6-7 (NKJV) — "He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you...that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again."
Buried in a borrowed tomb. But three days later? He got up. And because He rose, you will too.
Ezekiel and the Valley of Dry Bones
Ezekiel 37:5 (MSG) — “Watch this: I'm bringing the breath of life to you and you'll come to life."
What looked like death was actually a hidden army. All they needed was breath.
So let me ask you: What area of your life just needs breath again?
4. Real-Life Application: How to Stand When You Feel Buried
Let’s get practical, because I know many of you reading this are saying, "That sounds good, but I'm still under the dirt."
a. Call Out to God From Underneath the Dirt
Even when you can’t breathe, whisper His name. Cry out. Even muffled prayers reach Heaven. God hears dust-covered prayers.
b. Activate the Gifts God Gave You
In S.O.L.A.D.™, Angeline literally taps her foot until her body vibrates, shaking off the dust. That’s a visual cue for us: Use what you have. Worship. Pray. Fast. Speak life. Move. Even if it’s just tapping your foot in faith.
c. Don’t Confuse Burial with Death
Burial isn’t always the end. Sometimes it’s the beginning. Seeds die to themselves before sprouting. You may be in a dark place, but transformation is happening.
d. Don’t Give the Enemy the Last Word
Drought thought she had won. Plague was ready to celebrate. But the moment they turned their backs, resurrection happened. Don’t let Satan convince you that your silence means surrender.
5. Declarations to Speak When You Feel Buried
Speak these out loud. Post them on your mirror. Say them daily:
I may be buried, but I am not broken.
My tomb is temporary.
The same power that raised Jesus is raising me.
What was meant to suffocate me is becoming my soil for strength.
I will rise stronger than before.
6. S.O.L.A.D. Canon Symbolism: Why This Matters
The events in Chapter 6 are more than a fight scene:
Drought represents the silent killers in our spiritual lives—burnout, fatigue, discouragement, loss.
Plague shows how toxicity spreads when it’s unchecked. Words, trauma, sickness, generational pain.
Waterspout tries to drown identity and hope—waves of stress and chaos designed to pull you under.
Yet every Soldier of Light Against Darkness™ gets back up.
Why?
Because destiny can’t be buried. Purpose can’t be drowned. Victory can’t be suffocated. When God has called you, no enemy’s tactics will prosper.
7. A Word of Wisdom for the Weary Warrior
You’ve survived so much already.
And I know—I know it’s hard to keep standing when everything in you wants to collapse. When depression makes every day a battle. When grief has wrapped itself around your chest like a heavy coat. When betrayal, disappointment, and silence feel louder than hope.
But like Angelo and Angeline, your glow is still active.
Even when you don’t feel it. Even when the dust covers it. Even when nobody sees it.
You were never created to break. You were built to rise.
8. Final Encouragement: Rise, Shake, Repeat
Your story doesn’t end in the dirt. It begins with your resurrection.
Rise, even if your knees are shaky. Shake the dust, even if your hands tremble. And repeat it tomorrow if you have to.
Romans 8:11 (NKJV) — "But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies."
That’s your promise. That’s your power. That’s your reality.
And as your brother in Christ, I’m standing with you.
