Shame does not just want you to feel bad. Shame wants you to become silent. It wants you to hide your testimony, bury your healing, minimize your growth, and live as if the worst chapter of your life has more authority than the grace of God. Shame wants you to believe that because something happened yesterday, you no longer have the right to speak, serve, lead, create, encourage, dream, or move forward tomorrow.

But we have to be careful. Pain is a powerful teacher, but pain is not always a trustworthy interpreter. Pain can show you what needs healing, but it can also try to convince you that everyone is unsafe, every door will close, every dream will fail, every relationship will disappoint you, and every future attempt will end the same way the last wound did.

God did not place purpose in you so you could bury it under fear. He did not give you creativity, wisdom, compassion, leadership, discipline, testimony, talent, skill, vision, or spiritual insight so you could spend your life pretending it is not there. He did not bring you through storms, teach you lessons, sharpen your character, and open your eyes just for you to hide everything He developed in you.

Some people can talk, but they cannot cover you. Some people can criticize, but they cannot counsel you. Some people can observe your life, but they cannot discern your assignment. Some people can see where you are, but they do not have the wisdom to help you get where God is calling you to go.

God may have brought you through the storm, but He did not bring you through only for you to stay mentally trapped in the storm. He did not preserve you through pain just so fear could continue making every decision. He did not keep you alive, strengthen you, restore you, and carry you this far so that you would settle for a life ruled by crisis, scarcity, anxiety, and constant reaction.

Some people are not defeated because they lack potential. They are defeated because they keep speaking defeat over themselves. Some people are not stuck because God has not given them purpose. They are stuck because they keep rehearsing language that agrees with fear instead of faith.

Many people move through Memorial Day weekend focused only on cookouts, sales, vacations, and an extra day off work. None of those things are wrong in themselves, but Memorial Day was never meant to be just another long weekend. It was meant to be a moment of remembrance. Because the freedoms we enjoy today were watered by sacrifice.

Her name is Lois Lane. And on this Superman Day, as we celebrate 88 years since the debut of Superman, it is only right that we pause and recognize something that history often overlooks: Superman may be the world’s greatest hero… but Lois Lane is the reason his story matters.

Scripture tells us in Proverbs 29:18: “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” But what happens when someone doesn’t just have vision… What happens when they create it for others? That’s a different kind of seed. That’s a generational seed.

Everything we plant in our lives produces something. Plant faith, and faith grows. Plant discipline, and success grows. Plant courage, and opportunity grows. But sometimes the seeds we plant do something even bigger.

This 9th day of Women’s History Month, I want to highlight a woman whose story perfectly illustrates the power of planting seeds that others later harvest. Her name is Mary Ellen Pleasant. If you have never heard her name before, you’re not alone. Yet historians often refer to her as “The Mother of Civil Rights in California.”

This 21st Day of Black History Month, we celebrate a groundbreaking Black superhero whose impact often goes under-discussed but whose legacy remains powerful: The Meteor Man Robert Townsend’s The Meteor Man wasn’t just a superhero movie. It was a cultural statement. It was imagination without corporate backing. It was community-centered heroism. It was Black excellence in a genre that rarely gave it space.

A weary soul is easier to deceive. A tired mind is easier to discourage. A depleted heart is easier to isolate. That’s why exhaustion often shows up right before breakthrough. Right when your faith has been holding strong for a long time. Right when you’ve been faithful with no applause. Right when the load hasn’t lightened—but your strength has. The enemy is not shocked by your endurance. He’s counting on you running out of it.

Some seasons repeat not because time is stuck—but because behavior hasn’t changed. We relive the same frustrations. The same setbacks. The same prayers. The same cycles. And often we wonder: Why am I still here?
