Reed's Reads of Wisdom Wednesdays™: Falling Into the Unknown: When God Pulls You Through a Portal of Purpose

ree

Have you ever felt like you were free-falling into uncertainty?

Like you were living your life as usual, following routines, making plans, and then out of nowhere, God opened a portal beneath your feet and said, "Trust Me." No preparation. No warning. Just a divine shift that ripped you from your comfort zone and into the chaos of calling.

That’s exactly what happened to Kevin and Juanita in Chapter 2 of Book I of S.O.L.A.D.™: Soldiers of Light Against Darkness™. A routine research trip to the library becomes a battlefield. A sudden, unexplained supernatural wind knocks them off balance. And before they can scream or escape, they are swept into a glowing portal that appears beneath them.

Sound terrifying? It is.

But it’s also purposeful.

1. Divine Disruption Often Precedes Destiny

The library wasn’t a warzone until the moment their presence aligned with God’s timing. It seemed ordinary—until it wasn’t.

Likewise, in our own lives, many of us are walking into spiritual assignments masked as mundane tasks. We think we’re just running errands or grabbing coffee or logging into another Zoom meeting. But when you carry a divine assignment, heaven can interrupt your schedule without permission.

Kevin and Juanita didn’t plan to fall into a portal. But God planned for them to walk into purpose.

Reflection: What disruptions in your life may actually be divine redirections?

2. You Don’t Have to See the Portal Coming to Be Protected In It

Here’s the beauty of this scene: Even though Kevin and Juanita are blindsided, they are not abandoned.

They don’t fall into the portal alone. They fall together. They don’t fall helpless. They fall with purpose. They don’t fall into darkness. They fall into destiny.

You may not understand the shifts in your life right now. The changes. The abrupt endings. The seemingly random starts. But what you need to know is this: God has gone before you.

What you see as a setback, God sees as the first step.

Declaration: God doesn’t need my understanding to give me His protection.

3. The Fall May Be Frightening—But the Landing Will Be Glory

Imagine the heartbeats racing. The confusion in Kevin and Juanita’s eyes. The fear of what comes next.

Now imagine what God sees: two chosen vessels, now ready to begin their journey into light.

The fall is frightening, yes. But God never lets His chosen fall into nothing. When God opens a portal, it’s not to destroy you—it’s to deploy you.

Maybe you've lost a job. Ended a relationship. Relocated. Hit a wall spiritually. Or felt like you're tumbling through change after change. You're not free-falling. You're being repositioned.

Like Kevin and Juanita, you may be losing sight of the ground beneath you. But don't forget that God is in control of the landing.

Wisdom: There is no safer place to fall than into the hands of God.

4. He Will Pull You Out So He Can Pull You Up

In the S.O.L.A.D.™ universe, that portal isn't just a gateway. It's a divine intervention. A turning point. A holy reset.

For Kevin and Juanita, it’s the moment everything changes. For us, these moments often come wrapped in frustration or fear.

But remember: God never tears away what He doesn't intend to transform.

You may feel like life as you knew it is falling apart. You may feel like everything is being upended. But what if you're not falling apart? What if you're falling into place?

God pulls you out of comfort, confusion, or compromise to pull you up into calling, clarity, and courage.

Prayer: Lord, even when I feel like I’m falling, remind me that I’m still in Your hands.

5. Trust the Transition

Abraham obeyed and went out, not knowing where he was going. Kevin and Juanita fell into a portal, not knowing what awaited them. You may be standing on the edge of something that makes no sense right now. But if God is the One leading you, you can trust the transition.

You were never meant to stay where you are. You were never meant to hide behind the bookshelves of safety and play it small. You were meant for more.

And sometimes, that "more" starts with a fall.

So if you’re in freefall today—emotionally, spiritually, mentally—take heart. You’re not falling apart. You’re falling into purpose.

Closing Thought: Sometimes, we ask God for direction and He gives us a portal.Sometimes, we ask for answers and He gives us movement. And sometimes, the only way forward... is down into His will, through His preparation, and up into His promise.

Let the fall teach you. Let the wind redirect you. Let the portal prepare you.

Because what’s ahead of you is nothing short of destiny.
