Reed's Reads of Wisdom Wednesdays™: God Sees You—Even When You’re Bruised and Bleeding: Inspired by Chapter 6: Extinguishing Hope from S.O.L.A.D.™: Soldiers of Light Against Darkness™ Book II

ree

What happens when you give everything you have, and it still isn't enough? When you're the strongest one in the room, but you're still brought to your knees? What do you do when your faith is unshakable, your fight is unwavering, and your heart is in the right place—but you're still the one who gets knocked down?

In Chapter 6 of S.O.L.A.D.™ Book II, titled "Extinguishing Hope," we witness Angeline™ face a moment that many of us know all too well: standing tall in battle, doing everything right, and still ending up bruised, bloodied, and beneath the heel of an enemy that seems too big to beat.

Destruction, a powerful demonic entity, grows into a towering 20-foot giant and mercilessly stomps on Angeline. The enemy doesn’t just want to defeat her. It wants to humiliate her.

Sound familiar?

Let’s dig into this chapter, this spiritual truth, and this moment that mirrors so many of our own private battles.

Scene Recap: Bruised But Not Broken

Angeline begins the battle full of courage. She creates a force field to contain Destruction and her demon soldiers. She defends herself and others while holding back an ever-replicating army. She fights with every weapon she has: her shield, her sais, her bow and purity arrows. She uses her gifts with strategy, strength, and sacrifice.

But the enemy adapts. Every fallen demon is replaced by more. The weight of their pounding fists begins to break her force field. Her mind tires. Her strength weakens. And then—the crushing moment. Destruction grows into a giant, defeats Angelo, and literally smears Angeline into the dirt underfoot.

She is bruised. She is bleeding. She is unconscious. And the enemy walks away laughing.

And yet—God still saw her.

Message: God Sees You, Even There

We’ve all had "Destruction moments" in our lives. Situations where the enemy towers above us. Where life grows too heavy. Where we are overpowered, overlooked, and outnumbered. But there is a profound truth we need to declare:

Just because you are down, does not mean you are done.

The world sees weakness. The enemy sees opportunity. But God sees purpose. He sees your sacrifice, your obedience, your pain, and your perseverance. He sees you when others walk away. He counts your tears. He collects your prayers. He remembers every swing you made in the fight.

Psalm 34:18 tells us:

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

Angeline may have been physically crushed, but her spirit was not extinguished. Because her calling wasn’t over. Her God wasn’t finished.

Biblical Parallels: Faithful But Wounded

Job: Bruised by Life

Job lost everything. His family, his health, his wealth. And yet he declared:

"Though He slay me, yet will I hope in Him." (Job 13:15)

Job was misunderstood by friends, plagued by pain, and insulted by life itself. But God saw him. God restored him. And God rewarded his perseverance.

Elijah: Alone and Exhausted

In 1 Kings 19, after calling fire from Heaven and defeating the prophets of Baal, Elijah runs into the wilderness. He’s exhausted, overwhelmed, and wants to die.

"I have had enough, Lord," he said. "Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors." (1 Kings 19:4)

But God didn’t leave Elijah in the dirt. He sent an angel. He sent food. He gave rest. And then—He gave Elijah purpose again.

Jesus: Crushed for Our Sake

Let’s not forget the Savior.

"He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain... He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities." (Isaiah 53:3,5)

Jesus was bruised. Bleeding. Nailed. Mocked. Buried.

But it wasn’t the end.

Your bruising is not your burial.

When the Enemy Laughs

Destruction laughed over Angeline.

Sometimes, the enemy mocks you at your lowest. Your failure becomes a punchline. Your pain becomes entertainment for your critics. The people who don’t understand your calling might even agree with the enemy.

But here’s the thing: Heaven doesn’t laugh when you fall. Heaven stands.

"For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again..." (Proverbs 24:16)

You may be stepped on, but you are not stepped over. God is the lifter of your head.

Psalm 3:3:

"But You, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high."

Life Application: What To Do When You're Bruised and Bleeding

1. Acknowledge the Pain, But Don’t Stay Down

Even Jesus wept. Even Paul despaired. Even Angeline collapsed. Pain is not weakness—it’s evidence you are in the fight.

But don’t stay down. Let God heal you. Let others lift you. Let your spirit rise again.

2. Let Your Scars Tell a Story

Angeline’s bruises are part of her testimony. So are yours. The world needs to know that fighters fall too. And they rise again.

3. Don’t Confuse the Pause With the End

Being knocked out isn’t the same as being knocked out of purpose. Recovery is part of the process.

Rest. Heal. Then rise.

4. Stay Ready for Restoration

Sometimes God uses others to bring us back into the fight. Sometimes He sends angels. Sometimes He sends a Word. Stay ready for the comeback.

"After you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace... will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast." (1 Peter 5:10)

Declarations for the Bruised But Not Broken

Speak these aloud today:

  • I may be bruised, but I am not broken.

  • I am seen by God, even in my weakest hour.

  • My scars are not shame—they are signs of survival.

  • The enemy will not get the final laugh.

  • I will rise again. Stronger. Wiser. With greater purpose.

Final Encouragement

If you’re in a season where the weight of the world is pressing down on you, remember this: Destruction didn’t win.

Angeline didn’t die in that dirt.

Your story doesn’t end in defeat.

God sees you. He knows what you’ve been through. And He’s already planning your restoration. Keep pressing. Keep trusting. And when the next chapter comes, you’ll be standing again.

Because in the Kingdom of God, even bruised warriors are still warriors.
