Reed's Reads of Wisdom Wednesdays™: Weaponized Pressure: Why the Enemy Wants You Tired, Not Just Defeated

There is a dangerous misconception that defeat always looks dramatic.

We imagine failure as collapse. We picture it as losing everything in one devastating moment. We think defeat announces itself loudly.

But more often than not… it doesn’t.

Sometimes defeat doesn’t look like falling.

Sometimes it looks like waking up tired…Going to bed tired…And living in a constant state of “I’m doing everything I can… and it’s still a lot.”

And if we’re being real—that’s where a lot of people are right now.

Not defeated.

Just… worn down.

The Strategy Behind the Pressure

When you look at Chapter 6 of S.O.L.A.D.™: It’s Just the Beginning, what stands out isn’t just the fight—it’s the weight of the fight.

Angelo and Angeline aren’t just battling enemies.

They’re dealing with layers:

More enemies showing upMore attacks coming fasterMore responsibility falling on themMore decisions needing to be made in real time

And it becomes clear real quick…

This isn’t just about taking them out.

This is about wearing them out.

Because exhaustion will do what opposition sometimes can’t.

It will make you question what you know. It will make you hesitate when you should move. It will make you feel like you’re losing—even when you’re still standing.

The Bible Already Told Us This Would Happen

This kind of pressure isn’t new.

It’s strategic—and Scripture already called it out.

Daniel 7:25 (NKJV) says:“He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to wear out the saints…”

Not just destroy.

Wear out.

That means the goal isn’t always to take you down instantly.

Sometimes the goal is to keep applying pressure until you’re too tired to keep showing up the way you used to.

And if we’re honest…

That hits different when you’ve been in a long season.

When Pressure Becomes Personal

There’s a moment in that chapter where Angeline says something simple, but it carries weight:

“Too much…”

That wasn’t weakness talking.

That was honesty.

And I think a lot of people need permission to be honest right there.

Because some of you reading this have said the same thing—maybe not out loud, but in your spirit.

“Lord… this is a lot.”

And here’s the truth:

Saying it’s a lot doesn’t mean you don’t have faith.

It means you’re human.

Even Jesus Addressed This Kind of Weariness

Look at what Jesus said in:

Matthew 11:28 (NKJV)“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

He didn’t say, “Come to Me if you’re weak.”

He said come if you’re heavy.

That means you can be:

Responsible…Faithful…Still standing…

…and still be carrying too much.

Pressure Was Never Meant to Be Carried Alone

One of the biggest mistakes we make is thinking:

“If I’m strong, I should be able to handle this.”

But strength doesn’t mean isolation.

Even in the chapter, nobody survives alone.

There’s coordination. There’s support. There’s covering.

And that’s biblical too.

Galatians 6:2 (NKJV)“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

Not carry everything by yourself.

Bear one another’s burdens.

Why You Feel So Tired (And It’s Not What You Think)

Let’s talk plain for a second.

You’re not just tired because you’ve been busy.

You’re tired because you’ve been under constant pressure without proper release.

There’s a difference.

You can recover from being busy.

But pressure that doesn’t let up?

That hits your:

  • Mind

  • Emotions

  • Decision-making

  • Spiritual clarity

And after a while… you start feeling like you’re slipping.

Not because you’re weak.

But because you’ve been carrying more than you were meant to carry alone.

Pressure Will Try to Rewrite Your Perspective

Here’s what pressure does that a lot of people don’t talk about.

It doesn’t just wear you down physically.

It starts messing with how you see things.

You can be making progress… and feel like you’re not. You can be holding on… and feel like you’re losing. You can be growing… and feel like you’re stuck.

That’s why this Scripture matters:

2 Corinthians 4:8–9 (NKJV)“We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.”

Read that again.

Hard-pressed… but not crushed.

That means pressure does not equal defeat.

Declarations for the Worn but Not Broken

Now this is where we shift from understanding… to speaking life.

Because when pressure is loud, your voice has to be louder.

Speak these out loud if you need to:

  • I am not defeated—I am under construction.

  • I will not break under pressure—I will be built through it.

  • God is strengthening me even when I feel weak.

  • What I’m carrying will not crush me—it will refine me.

  • I will not confuse exhaustion with failure.

  • This season is not ending me—it’s preparing me.

And this right here seals it:

Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength…”

Not might.

Shall.

That’s a promise.

How to Respond When the Pressure Won’t Let Up

You don’t win this kind of battle by just pushing harder.

You win by being intentional.

Sometimes that means:

  • Stepping back to regain clarity

  • Letting God reset your strength

  • Asking for help instead of carrying everything

  • Choosing peace over panic

Because pressure wants you reactive.

But purpose requires you to be steady.

The Truth About This Season

Let me say this plainly.

If it’s been heavy…If it’s been nonstop…If it feels like it just won’t let up…

That doesn’t automatically mean something is wrong.

It might mean something is happening in you.

Growth doesn’t always feel good.

Development doesn’t always feel light.

And purpose?

Purpose will stretch you.

Final Word

If you’ve been feeling tired lately—mentally, emotionally, spiritually…

Don’t rush to call it defeat.

You might just be in a season where the pressure is real…

But so is the purpose.

And if the enemy is trying this hard to wear you down…

That might be the clearest sign yet…

That what’s in you is worth the fight.
