Reap What You Sow Mondays with Tony™: The Seed That Costs You Something— Why Sacrificial Sowing Produces Supernatural Outcomes

ree

🌿 Introduction: Real Seed Always Has a Price

There are moments in life when God calls you to plant something precious — something that stretches your faith, challenges your comfort, and costs you something deep. You feel it in your heart when He asks. It pulls on you. It unsettles you. It draws you into a place where obedience becomes an offering.

But here is the truth every believer must embrace:

The seeds that cost you the most produce the harvests that change you the most.

Anyone can sow what’s left over. But God looks at the seed that comes from the place of sacrifice — the place where giving means trusting Him more than your own strength.

“I will not present burnt offerings to the Lord my God that have cost me nothing.” — 2 Samuel 24:24 (NLT)

David understood something many believers forget: If it doesn’t cost you, it doesn’t change you. If it doesn’t stretch you, it doesn’t strengthen you.

Sacrificial seed is faith in its purest form.

🌿 1. God Honors What Costs You Something

In 2 Samuel 24, David needed to offer a sacrifice to stop a plague. Araunah offered to give him everything he needed — the land, the oxen, the wood. Free. Convenient. Easy.

But David refused.

He understood that a “free offering” is not a real offering — because nothing was surrendered in the process.

Sacrifice is the currency of trust.

It says: “God, I believe You enough to give You something meaningful.”

It could be:

  • A seed of money during a season of financial pressure

  • A seed of obedience when disobedience would feel easier

  • A seed of forgiveness when bitterness feels justified

  • A seed of time when your schedule feels overloaded

  • A seed of worship when your heart feels heavy

What costs you something catches Heaven’s attention.

🗣️ Declaration: I will give God a seed that reflects my faith, not just my comfort.

🌾 Quote: “The seed that costs you is the seed God multiplies.”

🌿 2. Sacrifice Positions You for Supernatural Multiplication

Sacrifice is not loss — it is spiritual investment.

Every sacrifice in scripture triggered supernatural response:

  • Abraham’s willingness to offer Isaac birthed a generational covenant.

  • Hannah’s willingness to give Samuel opened her womb again.

  • Elijah and the widow’s sacrificial exchange unlocked miraculous provision.

  • Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice produced salvation for the world.

In each story, the greater the sacrifice, the greater the multiplication.

“If you give, you will receive… The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.” — Luke 6:38 (NLT)

God multiplies what you release — especially when releasing it hurts.

🗣️ Declaration: My sacrifice is preparing a harvest I cannot yet see.

🌾 Quote: “Your sacrifice is Heaven’s signal to release supernatural increase.”

🌿 3. The Widow’s Offering: Heaven Sees the Size of Your Faith, Not the Size of Your Seed

Jesus sat in the temple watching people give. Many gave large sums — impressive to the people around them, but not necessarily costly to them.

Then a widow walked up and gave two small coins. Pocket change. Almost nothing — unless you understood the cost.

Jesus said:

“She gave more than all of them… she gave out of her poverty everything she had to live on.” — Luke 21:3–4 (NIV)

In Heaven’s economy: The greatest seed is not the biggest seed — it’s the costliest seed.

The widow’s gift wasn’t powerful because of its amount —it was powerful because of its sacrifice.

🌾 Lesson: God doesn’t measure seed by size… He measures it by surrender.

🗣️ Declaration: My sacrifice is significant to God, even when it feels small to others.

🌾 Quote: “People see the amount. God sees the sacrifice.”

🌿 4. Sacrifice Breaks the Spirit of Fear and Lack

One of the main reasons people eat their seed instead of sowing it is fear — fear of not having enough, fear of running out, fear of being left without.

But sacrificial giving breaks that fear.

It reminds your heart: “God is my Source — not my job, not my paycheck, not people, not my own effort.”

“My God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:19 (NKJV)

You don’t sow because you have extra. You sow because you trust God more than the extra.

🗣️ Declaration: I sow in faith, not fear. Lack does not control me — God does.

🌾 Quote: “The quickest way to kill fear is to plant faith.”

🌿 5. Sacrifice Breaks Ground for New Seasons

There are some doors that only open after a sacrificial seed. Not because God is trying to take something from you — but because He’s trying to take something out of you:

  • Self-reliance

  • Greed

  • Clinging to control

  • Fear of loss

  • Unwillingness to trust

Nothing reveals the heart like sacrifice.

Sacrifice clears the soil. Sacrifice breaks hard ground. Sacrifice prepares the atmosphere for new growth.

Many believers pray for breakthrough but never sow the seed that invites breakthrough.

🗣️ Declaration: My sacrifice is shifting my season and preparing new ground.

🌾 Quote: “Sacrifice is the plow that prepares the soil for your next harvest.”

🌿 6. Sacrifice Unlocks Divine Supply

God never asks you for something without preparing something greater to meet you on the other side.

Sacrifice is NEVER subtraction. It is ALWAYS setup.

Every sacrificial seed produces:

  • Unexpected provision

  • Divine favor

  • Open doors

  • Overflow

  • Protection

  • Increase

  • Joy

  • Peace

  • Answered prayers

  • New opportunities

“He will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.” — 2 Corinthians 9:10 (NIV)

Sacrifice is not loss — it’s spiritual leverage.

🗣️ Declaration: My sacrifice is unlocking doors I didn’t know existed.

🌾 Quote: “What you release, God replaces — with more.”
