While we recognize the cultural impact of the Harry Potter stories, today we explore something even more real and sacred: The Favor of Presence—the divine gift of having people who don’t just show up for your celebrations, but who stay for your sorrow. In life, there are moments when the pain feels unbearable, the weight too heavy, the grief too deep. Yet in those seasons, God often sends a special kind of favor—not in the form of solutions, but in the form of people.

And who better to reflect on today than the Black women who have answered that call again and again, often without applause, often through resistance, and often at great cost. Whether through activism, intercession, leadership, motherhood, teaching, or healing—Black women have been answering destiny’s call long before the world recognized their power.

This post also pays tribute to the sacred spaces—real or imagined—that Black women have carved out for themselves across generations. From crowded kitchens to quiet libraries, church basements to front porches, these spaces became more than settings—they became creative sanctuaries.

Throughout history, Black women have carried dreams into spaces where doubt was planted. They have walked on waters of uncertainty, injustice, rejection, and fear—because when God said “Come,” they obeyed. Today, we honor those water walkers—the ones who dared to believe that faith could carry them farther than fear ever could. They didn’t wait for safety. They didn’t wait for applause. They didn’t wait for permission. They stepped out—and God met them on the water.

Today, on the 27th day of International Black Women’s History Month, we lift our voices in celebration and recognition of the divine courage woven into the lives of Black women. Their stories are not just tales of survival—they are testimonies of purpose, power, and perseverance.

She may not lift mountains, fly at supersonic speeds, or command thunder. But Debrii’s power lies in her mind, her mouth, her courage, and her refusal to stay silent — even when the cost is high.

For the 24th day of International Black Women’s History Month, I’m spotlighting a film that roars with creative fire and historical truth: Bessie (2015). This powerful HBO biopic, directed by Dee Rees and starring the incomparable Queen Latifah, tells the story of one of the most iconic voices in American music—Bessie Smith, the “Empress of the Blues.”

Today marks a powerful moment in my journey. It is the 23rd day of International Black Women’s History Month, and it is also my 200th official Tony Post. That’s right—200 posts of faith, fire, and unwavering purpose. Over these 200 entries, I’ve poured out pieces of my heart, told the stories God gave me, and used my platform to shine a light on spiritual truth and the undeniable strength of Black women. With today’s post, I go even deeper.

Today’s theme is a quiet storm of truth: Momentum matters. Writing is a journey of bursts and blocks, of flow and friction. But in the in-between, in the small daily steps—momentum keeps you moving forward.

For far too long, Black women have been fed a dangerous lie. A lie so insidious that it’s often passed down, internalized, and masked in applause: “You are only as valuable as what you can produce, provide, or perform.” But the truth is this: God never required you to earn what He’s already declared.

On this Resurrection Sunday, as we celebrate the risen Savior, we also pause to reflect on the rising of His daughters, particularly the bold, faithful, and resilient Black women who carry resurrection power in their spirits every day.

When you think of “Power Girl,” you might think of Kryptonian strength, flying fists, and world-shaking heroics. But in the world of DC Comics, there’s a second Power Girl — a brilliant, gifted, and groundbreaking Black teenage genius who took the name and made it her own: Tanya Spears.

Today’s message is one that every writer—especially those walking in faith, purpose, and creative fire—needs tattooed on their heart: Rejection is not the end. It’s divine redirection.

There is something sacred, something powerful, and something holy about a Black woman who keeps showing up.

On this 13th day of International Black Women’s History Month, we honor a divine truth: when a Black woman walks in the boldness of Christ, she becomes unstoppable.
